Neuroflexibility is Trivedi's model for the ability to turn the brain and body on and off. Activation is associated in his explanation with the sympathetic nervous system and neurotransmitters such as dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine; recovery is associated with the parasympathetic side and signals such as serotonin and GABA. The goal is not maximum activation but the ability to move between both states and return toward homeostasis. The practical rule is to stop giving everyone the same biohacks. First identify whether a person naturally activates or recovers more easily, then reduce practices that exaggerate the stronger side and add practices that train the weaker side. Sleep, stress, energy, and performance provide feedback for adjustment.

Changing his daughter's copied routine

Trivedi's daughter copied his twice-daily training, high-intensity cardio, cold plunging, fasting, and sleep routine but developed inflammation. After testing her different pattern, he replaced it with two or three full-body lifts weekly, low-intensity walks, six small meals, and seven hours of sleep.

He reports that she lost 20 pounds of inflammation by the seventh or eighth week.
